Argentina, October 26
As it moves
toward legislative elections in the fall,
the country is battling its worst economic
crisis in decades. Winning the elections
would give President Javier Milei's liber-
tarian party more power in Congress,
where it currently holds only a minority
in both chambers.
Tanzania, October 26
Current President Samia Suluhu
Hassan came to office following
predecessor John Magufuli’s death
in 2021. While the 2020 presidential
elections were marred by controversy,
Hassan has loosened some of
Magufuli’s restrictive policies.
